dc.description.abstractEffective and responsive instructional design requires a clear understanding of the different orientations and patterns of students towards learning. Thus learners need more help to know where emphasis has to be placed. This study tries to use Pask (1986) and Entwistle’s (1996) typology of differential learning styles in addressing how part-time student study in Ghana. Because there re no studies of this nature in the country, it serves as a preparatory ground towards curriculum design for students and distance education practitioners. The findings of the study revealed that the student had worrying needs and that their approaches to learning differed according to their personal characteristics, type of job they are engaged in and household. The study die not delve into group differences.en_US
