Anthropometric measurements of alcoholics and non alcoholics of similar economic background were compared and the results reveal that there are no marked differences between the two. However, the biochemical analyses indicates that alcohol predisposes to fat storage, may contribute to iron deficiency and plays a direct etiologic role in liver disease.en_US
