Abstract

Fifty-three childreen with newly diagnosed partial epilepsies received GVG monotherapy (mean 44/mg/kg/day). After a mean follow up time of 16,5 months, 26 childreen (49%) were seazures-free, 18 (33,9%) had a decrease in seizure frequency and 9 childreen (16,9%) had unchanged seizure frequency. Side effects were reported in 22 childreen (41,5%) and included weight gain, increased appetite and restlessness.
