The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of career development experiences on employee commitment within the Parliamentary Service of Ghana. The view that career development experiences such as job enrichment, coaching and training were significant precursors to employee commitment was assessed. The study used stratified random sampling and attained a sample size made up of both senior and junior staff of the Service. Out of three hundred and twenty (320) questionnaires that were distributed, two hundred and ninety-five (295) were valid, comprising one hundred and twenty-nine (129) senior staff and one hundred and sixty-six (166) junior staff of the Service; this represents a response rate of 92%. The data was analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics, and the results were pictorially represented and summarised in figures and tables. The results indicated that career development experiences had a significant positive correlation with employee commitment in the Service. Hence, it was recommended that much attention should be focused on the creation of career development opportunities and experiences in order to engender greater employee commitment among staff of the Parliamentary Service of Ghana.en_US
