This report satisfies Gl. statutory requirement that the Vice-Chancellor reports on the work of the University to Congregation. During the past year, The University has been guided by its Strategic Plan in its work. A review of achievements of the Plan indicated that a lot has been done during the three years of implementation of the Plan. It is our hope that the rest of the objectives of the Plan will be achieved during the remaining seven years of its life. The University continues to expand in student numbers. From a population of fewer than 5000 students in 1994/1995, the population grew to a little over 10,000 in 1999/2000 and in 2004/2005 the population is almost 27,000. One can imagine the pressures on the facilities of the University with this phenomenal increase in student populationen_US
