Abstract

There is nothing more important and fascinating than a study of childhood and youth. In the following pages an attempt has been made to trace the growth and development of children from the pre – natal stage through the baby, crawling, toddling, infant, pre – school, school and adolescent stages up to the verge of adulthood when the child becomes ready to lend a hand in the affairs of the community. In this survey, based principally on Winneba children, there is a wide panorama of interests, paradoxes, problems and activities which the reader will find both stimulating and instructive.
