Kumasi. collaborated to establish an innovative community-oriented Postgraduate Training Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987 (PIG Obgyn). In the 10 years since its inception (1987- 1997), 14 specialists graduated This paper outlines the Aims and Objectives of the Program. the various components of Reproductive Health where most research and publications were done. and the important role that professional training can play in reproductive health researchen_US
