Abstract

Reviews the importance of information with specific reference to the African Society. Describes the importance of oral information in Africa and suggests that librarians in Africa should seriously consider the collection and organization of oral literature. Other issues considered include the importance of information for information for development and the need to acquire new methods of information technology.
