Abstract
The study was conducted in Ghana to find out the attenuating effect of parental practices on the relationship
between parental authoritativeness and adolescents’ academic achievement. The result shows that parenting
practices (both mothers & fathers’ home involvement) attenuated the effect of their authoritativeness on the
academic achievement of the students. The implications of the results are discussed.
