| dc.description.abstract | Describes the situation of scientific research and the provision of scientific and technical information in Ghana, with special reference to the role of the Ghana National Scientific and Technological Information Network (GHASTINET). Obstacles to the provision of adequate resources of scientific literature include: lack of finance; difficulty in identifying local publications; inappropriate gifts from donors; and lack of library staff with scientific backgrounds.
