The J. H. Kwabena Nketia Archives, located at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, is a premier center for the preservation and study of Africa’s cultural heritage. Named in honor of Professor J. H. Kwabena Nketia - renowned ethnomusicologist, composer, and scholar, the Archives safeguard a wide range of materials that document the continent’s intellectual, artistic, and cultural traditions. Our collections include audiovisual recordings, photographs, manuscripts, field notes, and other unique resources that capture Ghanaian and African cultural expressions across generations.
