Abstract

This study was carried out to analyze the link between parental school involvement and the academic achievement of young students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds between the ages of 15 and 20. As expected, the results indicate a positive and significant correlation between mothers’ school involvement and the academic achievement of the students. Surprisingly, fathers’ school involvement was found to be nonsignificant to the academic achievement of the students. The significance of the results is examined.
