Abstract
“The heights great men reached and kept were not obtained by sudden flight. But they, while
their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night”. – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I
will be ungrateful if I fail to acknowledge some prominent people who contributed woefully
and helped in diverse ways to complete the work successfully.
First, my profound gratitude goes to my supervisors, Dr. Francis K. Aboagye-Otchere and Mr.
James Otieku, for the guidance, immense supervision, encouragement, suggestions, and
insightful criticism that has contributed to the successful completion of this project. I extend
gratitude to all the Lecturers of the Accounting Department of the University of Ghana
Business School for their support, insight, and inspiration. Thanks to Dr Cletus Agyenim
Boateng and Dr. Samuel Nana Yaw Simpson for the impressive support and input. I also
acknowledge the assistance and cooperation of the research support team, especially; Mrs
Theodore Marfo, Miss Alice Anima Aboagye, Mr. Enusah Abudullah of the Accounting
Department, University of Ghana Business School.
Finally, I appreciate the support and prayer and encouragement of my Mother Miss Comfort
Mensah, and siblings
