dc.description.abstract | On occasion of the two hundred years jubilee of the founding of Basel Mission, the article traces its impact in Ghana. It analyses three inside and outside perspectives on Basel Mission; one is dealing with the so called Salem tradition in Abokobi, a historic mission station; another is looking at the use of Basel Mission frag-ments in a mega-church, Lighthouse Chapel International; and the third example refers to Basel Mission legacy for local politics in Akuapem. In all selected case-studies Basel Mission serves as imagi-native source of collective memory, impacting current discourses on religion and society in Ghana. | en_US |
