Abstract

This document is a third edition, revised Christian catechism and instructional book published by the Basel Missionary Society for use on the Gold Coast (modern-day Ghana). Written entirely in the Gā (Ga) language, it employs the standardized alphabet developed by Professor Lepsius of Berlin, for which a pronunciation guide is provided. The primary content is a catechism of Christian doctrine, which includes explanations of sacraments like Baptism. It is also supplemented with select scripture passages and a confirmation book. The work begins with liturgical texts, including a prayer of confession, the Lord's Prayer, and benedictions, establishing it as a foundational text for religious education, worship, and literacy within the Ga-speaking Christian communities served by the Basel Mission
