The value of A level results as predicted indices of likely performance in the various professional examinations taken by Undergraduate medical students has been investigated. Performance in the MB II, MB III and Part II examinations was found to correlate closely with the Aggregate attained. Students with the best A level aggregates achieved significantly better results in these examinations than those with weaker aggregates. (p < 001, p < 0.001 and p < 0.01) respectively. In contrast. no significant correlation was found with the Part I examination resultsen_US
