Islam and poverty reduction strategies in the Ghanaian Muslim community

Abstract

There seems to be an assumption that Muslims in Ghana are poor. However, the suggestion is that even if that is the case of the community is not pulling its weight to deal with the poverty situation. The paper highlights the Islamic understanding of the issue and uses one NGO trying to address the problem as an example.
