dc.description.abstract | The paper investigates the phenomenon of violence against women in the Ghanaian Muslim community. First, the paper does a theological reflection of Quranic texts and raises the issue of interpretation/misinterpretation and the extent to which religion has played a critical role in sanctioning violence against Muslim women. Then it examines how Muslim women in Ghana have imbibed these texts through socialization and ignorance. Second, it discusses how parallel reading of the text can be used as theological resources for improving the lot of Muslim women the various avenues available for redress and recommendation to help curb the incidence of violence. | en_US |
