Abstract

In Africa today, the inexorable laws of human progress are in operation. The revolution now taking place has commanded the attention of the world. But nothing has given a greater force, inspiration and cohesion to the liberation movement in Africa, than the achievements of the Chiefs and people of the Gold Coast. Much has been written about Kwame Nkrumah, the first Prime Minister of the Gold Coast, in the world’s press, but the story of the man as he really is, of his difficulties, his good qualities, his shortcomings, and his philosophy of life, has never been fully told. Hence the writing of this book.
