Abstract

From all parts of the world, new forms of Pan African activities are emerging to guide new actions from the grassroots. Even in the midst of the declaration of fighting for the declaration of fighting for the goals of a prosperous Africa by 2063, the current political/economic/ intelligentsia are still wedded to a project of seeking to mimic the European capitalist forms. How do we achieve that quantum leap in our consciousness, so that the African traditions of emancipation based on self-determined politics and self-determined activity becomes the reference point for the people and for the new phase of revolution? Micere Mugo refered to the Pan African activates at the grassroots as the lived experiences of the Pan African peoples in motion. The seminar will agree with C.L.R. James that the black peoples are at the center of the world events and that the revolutionaries of the world need the Africans as much as the Africans need them. C.L.R. James and Kwame Nkrumah were two of the most outstanding Pan African revolutionaries of the 20th Century and their writings and political practice holds much for educators who want to learn the positive and negative lessons of the Pan African education as an insurgent project.
