dc.description.abstractThe article reviews a workshop convened through the New York University Faculty Resource Network by Prof. John Collins of the University of Ghana and the African American trumpeter Prof. Michael White of Xavier University, New Orleans, in 8-12 June 2009, on „The African Roots of Jazz‟. This article extends their unique multicultural perspective to include other collaborative scholars, including the author‟s work exploring the complex relationship between Jazz and American Identity.en_US
