Abstract

The study aimed at assessing me knowledge, perceptions and awareness of adolescents on adolescent health services. The study, therefore, adopted a cross-sectional survey using a multistage sampling technique. The study also used a simple random sampling method in selecting students from the schools that were included in the study. The study then used an interview administered questionnaires in data collection. The questionnaires were in the form of semi-structured questionnaires. Data collected were entered into Epi Info and exported to Stata 15 for analysis. The study conducted a simple descriptive statistics on both continuous and categorical variables. The study revealed that adolescents had a high level of knowledge on adolescent health service in the Mfanteman municipality. There was also a high level of awareness of adolescents in adolescents -friendly health services. The study also revealed that the perception on AFRHS among adolescents was satisfactory. There was also a high level of utilization of AFRHS among adolescents. Finally, the study revealed that the factors associated with the utilization of AFRHS were age and distribution of materials like condoms and brochures. Therefore, the study recommended that more educational activities should be made available to adolescents based on discoveries in the area of sexual and reproduction issues
