dc.description.abstractIndia has had a well-documented relationship with gambling since ancient times, even staking claim to its origins. Some cite the account of gambling in Rig Veda, an ancient Indian text written between 1700 and 1100 bce, as the first documented description of gambling anywhere in the world.
